OK, I’ll tell you. It stands for “Thin on the Outside, Fat on the Inside.”
I hope to hecko everyone reads this.
People who are obviously fat look like they should have health problems. Some of them do, but others may be quite healthy, if they are exercising and eating well. Yes, large people can be healthy.
Thin people get a pass because they are thin. Some of them may be quite unhealthy because of terrible lifestyle habits.
Here’s the kicker: thin people can have fat inside, all around their internal organs, and develop the same problems as fatties.
“Everyone expects an overweight person to have lots of fat, but it can be a shock when a thin person has as much internal body fat as an obese, or even morbidly obese person.”
Now when a thin person says, “I can eat anything! I have a fast metabolism”, you know that if they don’t exercise, inside they may have dangerous levels of fat.
There is no moral high ground for thin people.

Hi there. I’m Amber. It’s been a while since I’ve posted. The last time I did [see below] I got some major backlash. Apparently I’m promoting obesity by existing. Apparently people are able to judge exactly what I eat, when I exercise, and what my health is, just by looking at a picture of me in my underwear. WOW. Isn’t that amazing! The things you learn from the internet!
All sarcasm aside, this is me. I am 5’7. I am obese. And EVERY INCH of me is gorgeous. What’s more important than that, is that I am happy.
We are bombarded by hundreds of ads every single day. Television, radio, internet, magazines. All telling us who we should be, what we should look like. Buy this product! Wear these clothes! Drink this health shake! It’ll make you skinny enough! Pretty enough! Perfect enough! Just…enough!
All of it, every single thing that you read, is A LIE. Do not listen to it. Turn off the media influences in your life, because it’s only out there to make money by preying on your insecurities.
You are beautiful. Exactly as you are. It doesn’t matter if you go to the gym three times a week. It doesn’t matter if you eat completely healthy, or if you slip up and eat too many cookies sometimes. It doesn’t matter if you have stretch marks, or if your boobs sag. It doesn’t matter if you have scars, or acne, or if you pull your hair out, or if you’re wheelchair bound, or have to wear a wig. You are a person, surviving day to day in a harsh environment, with too many people telling you you’re not enough, and not enough appreciating you for all you are.
Do what makes your body happy. Do what makes your mind happy. You have the right to make whatever choices you want, and NO one should be able to judge you for them. They will, don’t get me wrong. People will judge. People will sneer, and say disgusting things. But you have to believe me when I say that it DOESN’T MATTER. Just be you. Be fabulous. Life is too short to worry about reaching some social ‘norm’ or idea of ‘perfection’.
Don’t be afraid to be happy. Don’t be afraid to love yourself exactly as you are. Don’t be afraid.

TRIGGER WARNING: Fat Hatred
First of all, in regards to the comment about “Actually, it’s been proven that people who are slightly overweight live longer.”
She is far from slightly overweight. It looks as if she’s going to drop dead at any second from a heart attack.
She’s huge. Not only is it visually revolting, it’s incredibly unhealthy. Also, it’s a public disturbance.
Being “proud of obesity?” Seriously? That’s nothing to be proud of, it’s in fact something to ashamed of to the point of suicide, which at this point seems to be a good option as you have no plan to clean yourself up.
I’m sorry, but if you’re this large or larger, you shouldn’t be allowed on planes, buses, or any other sort of public transportation as it is a safety issue for the other people on it. Regardless of how “proud you are” having the weight equivalent to 3 or more people is a safety hazard for both yourself and everyone else.
No, this isn’t an issue of “what society deems as beautiful” it’s what nature has deemed fit to survive. Though, society does play a part in it, as who wants to procreate with someone with skin hanging off of them in folds? Yes, physical attraction does play a part in it, but human beings, like all other animals, select reproductive partners based off of traits essential to survival. Also, what positive reproductive traits could come of such a union? Obese people are disabled people.
You should be nothing but ashamed. Who promotes this idiocy? “Join the movement,” my ass.
Yep, the asshole above me just suggested that someone kill themselves rather than take up extra space on a bus. IDGAF about anything else being argued about with this photo, WHO TELLS A STRANGER ON TUMBLR TO KILL HERSELF???
But guys, there’s no such thing as fat hatred! We’re just OVERSENSITIVE TO THE TRUTH.
People like bnlrt above make me physically sick. Here we have a photograph of a woman who is clearly happy. But bnlrt would prefer her to be dead, without knowing ANYTHING at all about her life, her health, the people who love her, anything. Yes, that’s what this person is doing, they are wishing death on this woman, simply because of how she looks.
People will tell you that those of us who speak out about fat hatred are being “too sensitive” and are “imagining” that there are people in this world who want nothing more than to eradicate us from existence, simply because they cannot stand the sight of us. Well to those who say that, read back over the hate spewed by a complete stranger on the internet about another human being, suggesting she should kill herself simply because she is very fat.
This is not about beauty. This is not about health. This is about the basic fucking human right of being able to live your life without a complete stranger spewing hatred and death threats at you because they believe their life is more worthy than yours. That’s what it boils down to - the eradication of a people. It’s called genocide when the victims are about race and religion, and it’s the same damn thing in this case.
To bnlrt and those who think like that, take a look at yourselves and take your cold, black, worthless hearts and crawl back into the hateful little lives you have.
To fat people of the world, regardless of how fat you are, walk tall. Live your lives, demand your basic human right to do so and never, ever listen to the ignorant hate spewed from the mouths and minds of people like that.

God bless Carnie Wilson. Sometimes she has her weight under control and sometimes she doesn’t. Here’s what she says:
“I’m fat as f**k, what can I say? You know, after all these years, it’s just like we are who we are and it’s a struggle for me and sometimes I’m heavier and sometimes I’m thinner.”

I’m fat. I wasn’t always that way, but after years of doctor-prescribed medications (including heavy duty steroids) all of my body’s regulatory systems were just knocked out. I developed a near-fatal case of Cushing’s Syndrome, and after that I got cancer. I’m happy I didn’t die. But it took a long time to get to where I am: out of shape, with very, very painful arthritis that makes walking nearly impossible. Fortunately my brain is still working for the moment.
Fattie hater and former anorexic Maura Kelly went out of her way to bash people of size in “Marie Claire” magazine in one of the most ignorant, repellent articles I’ve ever read. I may be fat, but at least my soul isn’t black. I felt it was important to answer her post.
I’m not one of those people who thinks being fat is OK. But I believe the reasons for obesity are a lot more complex than simply eating too many cupcakes.
